Nancy Ajram is expected to be a Rotana artist in a few days, which would be a most powerful weapon to reinforce the record company’s arsenal already packed with superstars,The latest ‘Lebanese-made weapon’ has managed to establish herself in a few years as a leading Arab singer.
The signing is underway after marathon talks, but the positive progress manifested itself in the appearance made by Ajram at February Nights Festival (FNF) even before any formal recruitment,FNF was organized by Rotana and Al Watan TV of Kuwait.
Salim El Hindi, chairman of Rotana, accompanied Ajram throughout her visit during FNF,Moreover, her songs are intensively aired on Rotana-owned TV channels, her news were featured in the Rotana Mousiqa’s entertainment news bulletin Akher El Akhbar, and she was a guest in the Rotana-sponsored talent show The Manager.
El Hindi said publicly that the company would be honored by having Ajram, when he was asked if she was going to be his next surprise after the Algerian diva Warda,He then added: “She should just give us orders”, and he produced a pin and paper asking her to state her conditions and sign.
Ajram’s response was to wear her trademark childish smile as she said: “I agree! It’s only about few details we’ve got to get into concerning contract clauses”, FNF has apparently seen Rotana tightening its grip on the regional music business, and emerging as a magnet for all artists signed to other companies.
