Amr Diab gave a killer performance at the fifth concert in Kuwait’s February Nights Festival,Despite inconvenient organization, the Egyptian superstar managed to absorb his audience’s anger at the over-policing of the event.

Many members of the Egyptian community in Kuwait were present. But these were upset when security told them they can’t take photos using camera phones. Some were also ordered out when they waved the Egyptian flag.

The concert was marred by security’s beating of many of those who tried to touch Diab, who was outraged by the behavior,“I know what should and what shouldn’t be done, I’ve been giving concerts in Kuwait since 1989,” Diab told the security in the microphone, “None of you were even born at the time.”

Diab left the stage to shake hands with a young man with a disability who was denied reaching him by the security. He was heard to say, “I don’t want them to make me lose my audience.”

The concert featured Diab playing piano, a remixed version of Neqoul Eih, and many of his hits, old and new,Fearing a new leak from his upcoming overdue album, Diab declined a request to perform a new song.

Diab thanked the Kuwaiti Al Watan TV, Rotana and chairman Salim El Hindi,The auditorium was almost empty, save for non-Egyptians, after Diab finished his numbers.
