A state of fury prevails among a number of singers, mainly directed towards Lebanese singer Elissa because of her comments and fierce attacks on them. The singers accused Ellisa of being vain, snobbish and disrespectful of her much more famous colleagues.

Elissa, who recently received the Best Arab Female Singer Award, organized by the Artists' Syndicate and the Middle East Music Award Committee, launched a severe attack on artist Amr Diab by saying that her latest album's sales topped those of Amr Diab's, however one of the people present corrected her saying that Diab's albums always topped the musical charts, which caused Elissa to reply nervously saying that she was the number one singer, and that Diab should first get done with the Spanish Courts which demand that he should pay fines for stealing some of his musical compositions from Spanish music. Elissa added saying that to her, Diab is a second class singer.

Elissa's statements and unreasonable attack on Diab are no news. Many had previously accused her of lacking diplomacy and tactfulness while talking about her colleagues, which caused her many troubles, the last of which was with her fellow citizens Nancy Agram and Haifa Wehbe.

In one of her interviews, Elissa classified singers; saying that she was number one regarding romantic songs, followed by Agram then Wehbe. It's worth mentioning that Elissa and Wehbe have a certain war going on between the both of them; advertisements war so as to say.

Elissa won an advertising contract for a perfume company, which previously had Wehbe as their star. Later, Elissa announced that the promoter was the one who chose the more famous and charismatic singer to be the star of his campaign, alluding to the fact that she thinks she's far above Agram and Wehbe. She also said that no promoter can nominate her as a sub to anyone, because she always came first.

When faced with these statements, Wehbe said "Elissa can say whatever she wants to. I don't care about the whole thing and I don't like to talk about it as well"

Whenever Elissa is confronted with such statements, she usually blames the journalists who provoke her with their questions knowing that she is really nervous, and she also mentions that the journalists are always trying to bring about trouble and rumors trying to create a hubbub.
